week2

Week 2 was so much easier to maintain my goals than week 1 go figure. I have my no waste production down to a tee and it almost seems like I have been doing this forever. I am still struggling with the no meat thing however. The no eating meat is probably the biggest issue during week 2. I would find myself watering at the mouth for chipotle or a nice cheeseburger. It's funny that the days I could not eat meat, there would be the best entrees served with meat. Just my luck though. It has been difficult for me overall because of the increased awareness and combination of the goals. Suprisingly though my driving is working out fine. I did not need to go home this weekend and that was pretty cool how that worked out. The no driving thing has the potential to be a difficult goal and I think I was lucky that I did not need to drive anywhere that week. Overall the hardest obstacle that I faced during week 2 was finding ways to attain my goals of no meat AND no trash. That was extremely difficult. In week 1 I had the two goals staggered so that way I could eat protein bars without producing trash and what not. But in week 2, that was extremely hard for me to do. I had to find alternatives for protein that were not packaged; at least in unrecyclable material. I ate things such as beans and bread and oatmeal. It was difficult but I just really had to be aware of what I was eating all the time. Week 2 was a tough one for me and I am hoping week 3 is not going to be too bad. I keep reminding myself this is for the good of our earth along with the ability to influence my inefficient habits. I am very happy with my results. During week 2 I think I used one napkin when I spilled juice and I had a protein bar which wrappings were not recyclable. Now with that out of the way I can safely say the rest of the week was "mistake-free".
